Low Temperature CO Shift Catalyst

BR shift 302 Low-Temperature CO Shift Catalyst is used for promoting the reaction of CO with water vapor to produce H2  and CO2 under low-temperature conditions (180~260°C). It is widely used in the Low-Temperature CO Shift process in ammonia and hydrogen production units to purify hydrogen and ammonia feed gas.

The conversion reaction is as follows:CO + H2O = CO2 + H2 (+41.9 kJ/mol)

 

BR shift 302 catalyst can be used in the entire reactor or in combination with Cu-Zn-Cr catalysts using an optimized loading method. The best loading scheme involves placing BR shift 302 catalyst in the main part of the bed and a small amount of Cu-Zn-Cr catalyst in the upper part of the bed, allowing both catalysts to fully utilize their respective characteristics.

  • BR shift 302 catalyst is characterized by its good low-temperature activity, a wide operating temperature range, low bulk density, and high mechanical strength.
  • BR shift 302 catalyst does not contain free water in the final product, which eliminates the need for a dehydration process during temperature ramping, ensuring that the product’s strength does not decrease due to dehydration during the temperature ramping process.
